🎊 ANNOUNCEMENT 🎊 When this lockdown started 🎊 ANNOUNCEMENT 🎊

When this lockdown started, I started planning my blog work for 2021.

And the one thing I wanted to do was ‘share more’ while protecting my own health journey. It is something I’ve battled with for a long time but I finally had the answer:

WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

Sharing more to me means writing more. And writing more means more blog posts, rehashing some old ones and generally being more open about the rollercoaster than can be IBD. It’s time to show to everyday, the ‘mundane’ and the ordinary.

If you want to sign up, find this post in my linkinbio - it’ll be permanently there - and I look forward to you reading and learning a little more about me and IBD.

💭 IS YOUR DIET DIFFERENT WITH A BAG?❔ 💭 IS YOUR DIET DIFFERENT WITH A BAG?❔

Yes and no.

Yes, ✔️ I am able to eat more - in variety and quantity - than I could ever do with my diseased colon.

No, ❌ I still have moments when I need to take things slow - meaning bland and predictable - because I'm having a rough day or two. Much like anyone else, my diet is personal to me; meaning I can pretty much eat what I like and when *in moderation.*

It is certainly more pleasant now than when I a) had my colon and it was riddled with Crohn's and b) my IBD was flaring.

If you find yourself concerned about what life after a stoma is like, and food is your big worry; talk to other ostomates, to get a fuller look into what it is like. But please remember, diet is very individual and affects are not universal.

You can read more of my journey and tips with food after stoma surgery in my new blog post - linked in my profile.

Please share & tag, save and comment to spread the word!

Week Three of 2021 and what feels like Day One Bil Week Three of 2021 and what feels like Day One Billion of #Lockdown3.0

I admit I am feeling cooped up and frustrated. I'm having odd dreams - meaning lots of broken sleep - and hardly any motivation or focus to get my 'work' done lately.

But the best thing I can do is take my time and remember to be kind to myself. To take time away from my screens, to reconnect with words, to switch off from the crazy world for a moment.

And if you are feeling the same, or feeling like things are tougher than you can cope with, remember this quote - your kindness goes beyond the marks you leave.

Happy Monday 💜

THANK YOU for being here with me this year 💛 F THANK YOU for being here with me this year 💛

For each conversation, for each comment, for each connection, for each share, like and save. It is a wonderful thing to be part of this online community, more so this year than ever.

I gained another diagnosis and had another surgery this year. More testimony to the fact that chronic illness life does not stop, not even in a pandemic.

I feel stronger than I did at the start of 2020 and I’m taking that energy into 2021 😘

Anyone else? 😂 But in all seriousness, I know Anyone else? 😂

But in all seriousness, I know much won’t change tomorrow except for the date. It’s been a hard, long, frustrating and painful year; and that’s just the COVID stuff. Beyond that, it’s had some seriously rough moments.

Keep on washing your hands, wearing a mask and staying socially distant. Stay safe out there, look after yourself 🤘🏻
