Day Nineteen – 5 Dinner Guests

5 dinner guests. Who are 5 people you’d love to have dinner with (living or deceased) and why? – The wonderful Sara Ringer; she is possibly the most knowledgeable Crohnie I know. And she’s so far away! – The lovely John Bradley; we could take Foul Bowel and finally talk about Canada / Birmingham. – My lovely Lichfield boys. We always have fun. I don’t have to worry when I am with them. – My besties – Sammie and Gemma. They come with no judgment, no fear and we have the best banter. – My British IBD family – I…

Day Eighteen – Open a Book

“I’d never been mad about my body.” Well, its true, I’d never been crazy about my body. I was a tiny, flat chested teenager until the middle of my 4 year at secondary school and I “blossomed”. It is a slight understatement. They just happened. And I was embarrassed by them. They were very noticeable. They looked silly on my 5”2 frame. It was a struggle to accept them for what they were; a part of me. When I went to university, I found that embracing my body was alot easier than fighting against it. I’ve always wanted to look attractive –…

Day Seventeen – Learnt the Hard Way

Learnt the hard way. What’s a lesson you learned the hard way? Write about it for 15 today. Sometimes, people are just arseholes. I learnt this a particularly hard way at New Years, and pretty much every couple weeks since, but I have been strong enough to just leave it be, nowadays. My friend N came to see me when I was last sick in hospital, back in November. He showed concern and brought lovely treats for me; all in all a good visit and a good friend. I got to  New Years and I was finally up for going…

Day Fifteen – Writing with Style

Writing with Style. What is your writing style? Do words just flow from your mind to your fingertips? Do you like handwriting first? Do you plan your posts? Title first or last? Where do you write best? 9 times out of 10, the words come to me from just sitting here, at my desk on my laptop. More often of late, I’ve been sat on my bed, middle of the evening, writing about certain topics and subjects, sometimes with inspiration from my day or conversations. I have alot of drafts. Mostly titles. And photos. Some half finished posts; things I…

Day Fourteen – My Dream Day

My Dream Day. Describe your ideal day. How would you spend your time? Who would you spend it with? Have you had this day? If not – how could you make it happen? I used to hate all the time I spent confined to my bed while in hospital and on sick leave from work. It was the longest (and shortest) 5 months of my life. But you know what my ideal day would be? Bed. I am always up early with my cranky guts (not much has changed) and once I’m up, I find it very hard to get back to…
